Renukaswamy murder: 1,300-page chargesheet with pictures shows Darshan at scene

The Bengaluru police on Saturday filed a comprehensive 1,300-page supplementary chargesheet in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case, which implicates actor Darshan and his associates. The additional charge sheet, prepared under the supervision of ACP Chandan Kumar, was submitted to the 57th CCH Court.
During the investigation, police uncovered significant evidence linking the accused to the crime scene, including photographs retrieved from a witness’s mobile phone.
The retrieved images include four photographs with accused Janadish, two photographs with accused Anukumar and two photographs with accused Ravi.
These images allegedly show actor Darshan and his associates posing at the location where the murder took place. Police believe this evidence solidifies their involvement in the crime and is expected to strengthen the case as legal proceedings continue.
Authorities are now moving to seek the cancellation of bail granted to the accused, arguing that the evidence underscores the seriousness of the charges.
A 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor, had sent obscene messages to Darshan’s friend Pavithra Gowda, which enraged Darshan, allegedly leading to his murder. His body was found near a stormwater drain next to an apartment in Sumanahalli here on June 9.
Raghavendra, one of the accused who is part of Darshan’s fan club in Chitradurga, had brought Renukaswamy to a shed in R R Nagar here, on the pretext that the actor wanted to meet him. It was in this shed that he was allegedly tortured and murdered.
According to the post-mortem report, Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, died due to shock and haemorrhage as a result of multiple blunt injuries.
